V2WORK RESULTS EVALUATION AT THU DAU MOT UNIVERSITY

From the 19th to the 21st of January 2021, an evaluation workshop was carried out at Thu Dau Mot University, Binh Duong Province on the results of project V2WORK funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union. Invitation to observe the procedure was extended to representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, namely Dr. Tran Dinh Lam – Director of the Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Le Hoa Tranh – Director of the Center for Career Orientation and Human Resource Development, with fellow staff member Ms. Ho Cam Nhung.

The evaluation was held in-person and broadcast online in real time. Members of the in-person, on-site discussion panel consisted of the eight project members of V2WORK in Vietnam:Thu Dau Mot University, University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City,Tra Vinh University, Tay Nguyen University, Nha Trang University, University of Technology and Education - University of Danang, Industrial University of Vinh, Hanoi University of Science & Technology and the three entities: Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, AIESEC Vietnam.
Joining the workshop from abroad via online broadcast were members of the project in Europe: University of Alicante (Spain), FH Joanneum (Austria), and University of Coimbra (Portugal).

In his opening remarks, Dr. Ngo Hong Diep – Vice President of Thu Dau Mot University, expressed his appreciation for the work V2WORK had done for the students of his university in particular and to all students in Vietnam in general. He opined a student’s self-worth could, without a doubt, be improved by means of capacity building and first-hand experience with businesses. With that in mind, his university is committed to the development of the project, ensuring full support for students in the times to come.

Speaking with Dr. Tran Dinh Lam, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – President of Thu Dau Mot University, voiced his gratitude for the practicality of V2WORK in raising awareness and improving employability of graduates. He took this opportunity to thank the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities for making Thu Dau Mot University a project member of V2WORK as well as the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their support during the implementation of the project.
 
During the three-day workshop, many activities were held with active participation from the member universities. Presentations and discussions focused on the evaluation of the effectiveness of V2WORK work package 4 (online training courses, organization and outcomes of job fairs, etc.). While experience sharing sessions concentrated on each member university’ experience in spreading the entrepreneurial spirit and discussing development programs in attitude, knowledge, and capacity with undergraduates.
 
Mr. Bui Tien Dung – Officer at the Student Affairs Department, Ministry of Education and Training, thought highly of V2WORK’s effort to bring the entrepreneurial spirit to students which has consistently met the Ministry’s requirements for training of students in recent years. Thu Dau Mot University’s outstanding achievements and contributions to the making and development of high-quality human resources in Vietnam are fundamentally the result of its school managing board’s vision and leadership.
